Leroy in Rotterdam
Planned a few months ahead, for my next visit to Rotterdam, this was the result of me asking around for “men with beards”. And what a beard it was. I went out to an abandoned grain silo on the River Maas - Maashaven Zuid [Google Street View] with 35-year-old Leroy Molkenboer, cab driver, roller-skater, fixie rider and barbershop frequenter, for a few hours discovering one amazing setting after another. I love the textures and colours of weathered industrial places and how the light spills through gaps, cracks and broken windows. Leroy was up for anything. Shot some new favourites.
